Privacy for sourcing inquiries

metals.wiki collects only the information needed to understand and respond to a procurement inquiry.

Information you provide

The inquiry form may collect your name, company, country or region, email, WhatsApp or phone number, requested material or grade, product form, quantity, and message. At least one contact method is required so we can respond.

Source and operational information

We record the source page URL so an inquiry remains connected to the metal, grade, product, or solution guide that prompted it. When the inquiry starts from a contextual page action, we also record that page's entity type, slug, and title. We may also record the browser referrer, submission time, inquiry status, and private follow-up notes. A one-way network identifier is used for spam throttling; the raw address is not stored in the inquiry record.

How the information is used

Information is used to review requirements, respond to the customer, prepare sourcing follow-up, and maintain a record of whether an inquiry is new, contacted, or completed. We do not use the inquiry database as a public directory.

Access and retention

Inquiry records are visible only through the protected owner administration area. Records are retained while needed for sourcing, customer service, legal, security, and operational purposes, then removed when no longer reasonably required.

WhatsApp

If you choose WhatsApp, the link opens WhatsApp with a first-message prompt containing the current page URL. WhatsApp then processes the conversation under its own terms and privacy practices.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct or remove inquiry information by contacting us through the same WhatsApp number or inquiry channel, subject to records we must retain for legitimate legal or security reasons.
