Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel
Grain-oriented electrical steel is processed to produce highly directional magnetic properties for transformer cores, so rolling direction, domain refinement, core construction and handling damage are central to procurement.

Definition and boundary
GOES is intended for magnetic circuits with flux predominantly aligned to rolling direction; it is not the default for rotating machines with changing flux direction.
