Metal Weight Calculator

Estimate theoretical mass from nominal geometry and density for procurement planning. Results are not certified shipping weight, tolerance acceptance or structural design data.

Calculate theoretical metal weight

Enter nominal geometry in millimetres. The calculator keeps full precision internally and displays a practical estimate.

Theoretical mass15.7 kg34.613 lb
Density
7,850 kg/m³
Formula
length × width × thickness × quantity × density
  • The result is theoretical mass from nominal geometry and density; manufacturing tolerances, coatings, corners, scale and packaging are excluded.

How to use the result

Use nominal geometry carefully

Pipe requires outside diameter and wall; Schedule alone is incomplete without NPS and the governing dimensional standard. Coil requires explicit strip length.

Confirm density and tolerances

Default densities are convenient estimates. Alloy, coating, rolling tolerances, corners and actual measurements change shipment mass.

Convert the estimate into an RFQ

State material grade, standard, condition, dimensions, tolerances, quantity, packing and inspection—not weight alone.

Continue with product forms, material families or the pipe Schedule guide.
