This policy explains how the metals.wiki Editorial Team selects sources, controls technical claims, separates comparison from equivalency, uses automation, maintains bilingual pages, and handles corrections and commercial disclosure.
1. Source hierarchy
We prioritize current standards and standards organizations, followed by regulators, classification societies, industry associations, and recognized technical institutions. Producer documents support producer-specific data. Secondary references are used only when primary material is unavailable or added explanation is necessary.
2. Designations and equivalency
Cross-standard comparisons provide context; they do not approve automatic equivalence or substitution. The exact product standard, edition, condition, dimensions, supplementary requirements, and acceptance criteria control.
3. Technical claims
Numerical values are presented with their applicable scope where available. General properties are not guaranteed order values, and application guidance states project-specific dependencies and limitations.
4. Review workflow
Before publication, source checks confirm traceability, scope boundary checks separate general guidance from order acceptance, duplicate-intent review prevents pages from competing for the same task, and correction handling keeps disputed claims reviewable. Approved English structure is then localized into Chinese and published with a real review date.
5. AI-assisted work
AI and other automation may assist research organization, drafting, translation, and consistency checks. They do not approve technical claims.
