6063 Aluminum Pipe and Tube

Specifications and dimensions

Order outside diameter and wall thickness or the applicable pipe size, with length, straightness and end preparation.
Identify seamless extruded pipe, seamless extruded tube or drawn tube because dimensional standards and acceptance differ.

Standards and supply condition

ASTM B241/B241M for applicable seamless pipe and seamless extruded tube
ASTM B221/B221M where the ordered item is an extruded tube or profile product

Manufacturing and processing

Billet is extruded through the required die and may be drawn or sized before final heat treatment and straightening.
Cutting, bending, machining, welding, anodizing and end finishing must preserve the required temper, dimensions and surface.

Architectural rails, frames and visible tubular systems
Furniture, displays and light fabricated assemblies
General conduit and low-load tubular components where engineered

Quality and acceptance controls

Match alloy, exact temper, lot or heat identity, dimensions and ordered product specification to the certificate.
Verify thickness or wall tolerance, flatness or straightness, surface class, permitted defects and traceability.
Agree mechanical testing, corrosion testing, ultrasonic examination, conductivity or third-party inspection where the service requires it.

Product form, dimensions, tolerances and quantity
Delivery condition or temper and required surface finish
Fabrication route, service environment and design standard
Testing, inspection, certificate and traceability requirements
Packing, marking, destination and required delivery date

Selection limits

Alloy number without the exact temper is incomplete for strength, forming, machining and welding decisions.
