- ASTM A106/A106M-26 Grade B seamless carbon steel pipe
- ASTM A530/A530M general requirements and ASME B36.10M dimensions where referenced
Manufacturing and processing
- Seamless hollows are hot worked and finished to size before required heat treatment, straightening and testing.
- Cutting, beveling, bending and welding must follow the piping material specification and qualified procedures.

Quality and acceptance controls
- Match grade, manufacturing type, heat or lot, dimensions and ordered edition to the MTR and marking.
- Verify hydrostatic or permitted nondestructive electric testing and any project NDE.
- Inspect wall, ovality, straightness, ends, surface, coating where applicable, marking and export protection.

Selection limits
- A pipe grade does not define design pressure, allowable stress, corrosion allowance, joining procedure or code acceptance.
- A53 Grade B, A106 Grade B and API 5L Grade B are distinct product specifications and are not automatic substitutes.
