Procurement guide for PE-painted galvanized steel metal deck, covering substrate, metallic coating, paint system, profile geometry, effective cover width, steel thickness, forming, inspection and project design interfaces.

Specifications and dimensions

Specify formed profile, rib geometry, overall width, effective cover width, length, thickness and tolerance.
State substrate and metallic coating designation separately from paint system, film build, color, gloss and surface protection.
Confirm end laps, side laps, fasteners, penetrations, cut edges, drainage and project structural design basis.

Manufacturing and processing

Galvanized coil is pretreated and coil coated before profiling, cut-to-length processing and controlled packing.
Deck profiling changes geometry and coating stress; profile, bend radii, paint acceptance and edge condition must be ordered together.

Typical applications

Roof and wall cladding where the approved assembly and fastening design accept the profile.
Industrial buildings, warehouses and light-gauge building envelopes after project design review.
Non-composite metal deck use only where the project design and applicable standard define the structural duty.

Quality and acceptance controls

Verify substrate, metallic coating designation, paint system, dry-film thickness, color/gloss and coil traceability.
Measure formed profile geometry, overall/effective cover width, length, thickness, flatness and coating condition.
Inspect cut edges, bends, scratches, coating cracks, protective film, labels and moisture-protected packing.

Design loads, span/support arrangement, fastening and lap details

Selection limits

PPGI and a profile name do not establish structural capacity, fire performance, watertightness or code compliance for a complete roof, wall or floor assembly.
PE paint system selection depends on environment, UV, corrosion, forming and project maintenance requirements; final acceptance follows the order and approved sample.
