Galvanized Pipe for Water and Fire-Protection Systems

Galvanized pipe is not universally accepted for potable-water or fire-protection systems. The local code, authority having jurisdiction, approved system listing and project specification must accept the base pipe, galvanizing route, dimensions, joining, pressure tests and water chemistry; a zinc coating or mill certificate does not establish system approval.
