The short answer
A complete galvanized steel pipe order identifies the base-pipe specification, grade, size, wall or Schedule, welded or seamless route, galvanizing method and applicable coating requirements. It also defines coating inspection, threads or ends, hydrostatic or nondestructive testing, material documents, marking, bundle protection and destination. The phrase galvanized pipe alone is not a transferable global specification.

What controls the result
Galvanizing can occur as part of a pipe product standard or under a separate coating specification. The order must state which route and edition control.
Coating mass or thickness, uniformity, adherence, appearance, bare areas and repair rules are different acceptance questions.
Threads, couplings, beveled/plain ends, length tolerance and zinc buildup can affect installation. Confirm finished-product dimensions after coating.
