G60 is an ASTM A653/A653M coating designation for continuously hot-dip zinc-coated steel sheet. It identifies a total both-sides coating requirement in the ASTM system; it does not identify substrate grade, sheet thickness, surface treatment, forming quality or guaranteed service life.

Corrosion behavior
Coating life depends on coating system, exposure, drainage, cut edges, fabrication damage and maintenance.
A coating designation does not establish universal service life or suitability.
Temperature, concentration, deposits, crevices, stress, surface finish, cleaning, and fabrication quality can change service performance.
