Standards and supply condition
- ASTM B479-19 for annealed barrier, food-contact and general packaging foil when applicable
- ISO 7271 dimensional tolerances or the ordered EN/national/customer foil specification
Manufacturing and processing
- Foil is rolled to final gauge, slit, cleaned and annealed or work hardened to the ordered temper.
- Printing, lacquering, laminating, embossing, sealing and forming are downstream operations requiring their own qualification.

- Container, lidding and closure foil
- Pharmaceutical and industrial laminates after qualification
Quality and acceptance controls
- Verify alloy, temper, lot traceability, gauge profile, width and mechanical-property results.
- Inspect pinholes, surface cleanliness, wettability, bright/matte side, edge, splices and winding.
- Require application-specific food-contact, pharmaceutical, coating, laminate or migration documentation.
