Metals for Heat Exchangers

Heat-exchanger metal selection is governed by both sides of the exchanger: fluid chemistry, chlorides, pressure, temperature, velocity, fouling, crevices, thermal cycling and fabrication. Selecting tube or plate by grade name alone can create a hidden failure point.
