Procurement requires the underlying metallic-coated substrate specification and grade plus primer/topcoat chemistry, film system, color, gloss, dimensions, forming, performance tests, warranty basis and packaging.
Designation and acceptance
A755 treats prepainted sheet as a layered system: steel substrate, metallic coating, pretreatment, primer, topcoat and optional backer. It permits several metallic-coated substrates and thin- or thick-film organic systems. A color name or PPGI/PPGL trade label cannot replace substrate, coating designation, film chemistry, dry-film requirements and exposed-service qualification.
