PPGI and PPGL are prepainted coated-steel descriptions, not complete specifications. In common market use, PPGI is associated with a zinc-coated substrate and PPGL with an aluminum-zinc alloy-coated substrate. A usable order states the substrate standard, metallic coating designation, paint system, film thickness, color, gloss, side, forming duty, dimensions and environment; neither acronym alone establishes outdoor life.
